About Miss Blakey
Miss Caroline Blakey is a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH), paediatric and adolescent hip disorders, and hip preservation surgery. She holds substantive consultant posts at Sheffield Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Doncaster Royal Infirmary), where she manages complex paediatric and young adult hip conditions, general paediatric orthopaedics and trauma, and selected adult hip preservation cases.

She completed higher surgical training in Trauma & Orthopaedics in the South Yorkshire Deanery, followed by dedicated paediatric orthopaedics, hip arthroscopy and hip preservation fellowships in the UK, Australia and Switzerland. In 2014 she was awarded an MD(Res) from St George’s, University of London for her thesis on Anterior Instability of the Hip.
Her clinical practice combines high-volume paediatric orthopaedics, complex hip preservation work, trauma, and lower limb reconstruction, underpinned by a strong academic and teaching portfolio.

​Miss Blakey holds an MD(Res) in hip instability and has published widely in paediatric orthopaedics, hip preservation and trauma. She is an Associate Principal Investigator for national clinical trials and has completed advanced fellowships in paediatric orthopaedics and hip preservation. She plays a key role in training future surgeons, serves as an FRCS (T&O) question writer, and is a member of major UK orthopaedic societies.​
Expert Witness & Report Preparation Experience
Miss Blakey has been preparing medico-legal reports since 2022 and completes over 40 reports per year, including causation, condition & prognosis, and breach of duty assessments in paediatric and young adult orthopaedics.

She is instructed by both Claimant and Defendant firms (approximately 80/20) and is experienced in cases involving DDH, paediatric hip disorders, traumatic and limb injuries, and orthopaedic surgical management.

Her reports are CPR Part 35 compliant, clear, evidence-based and delivered within practical turnaround times.

Payment Terms
Our standard payment terms are 90 days from the date of invoice. However, we understand the funding structures within medico-legal work and are able to agree extended payment arrangements, where appropriate, subject to written agreement at the point of instruction and internal compliance checks. Extended arrangements may be agreed for up to 36 months depending on the nature of the matter and the instructing firm.
Turn Around Times
Miss Blakey aims to provide reports promptly and efficiently. Typical turnaround times are: 10–14 working days for standard cases • 14–28 working days for complex cases • 5–10 working days for urgent cases.
